Divergent vs. Birthmarked

Divergent by Veronica Roth started out really good.  However, in my opinion, it got worse as the novel went on.  It's the story of Tris, a 16 year old girl who lives in a society where you choose your lifestyle based on four different groups.  She has chosen to live with the courageous group but must go through initiation in order to be accepted in to the "faction".  The story got more disturbing and violent as time progressed. 

I would recommend Birthmarked if you are looking for another dystopia book to get your fix.  The story is about a young midwife who has to hand over certain babies to the high society. Not as disturbing at Divergent, it has the action, suspense, and romance that every futuristic book needs to be satisfying.
