Hourglass vs. The Host
The only things that Hourglass and The Host have in common is that the main character is a girl and that she is in love. Hourglass was too spelled out and predictable (although I loved the opening paragraph), and The Host was neither one of those things. I've heard people say that The Host was too bizzare for them--I loved it. Which one do you like better?
