Shanghai Girls

I have mixed feeling about Shanghai Girls.  It was interesting to learn about Chinese history during the 1930.  I had no idea that Chinese Americans were so discriminated against.  There were some pretty intense parts--especially at the end.  I think I've decided that I didn't like the book...not because it wasn't well-written (because it was in the literary sense), but because it was too disturbing.
